1About these terms
These terms and conditions govern all travel arrangements made with International San Tours, trading as Sillage Égypte ("we", "us", "our"), of 92 Ahmed Orabe Street, Mohandeseen, Giza, Egypt (commercial registration no. 409). By making a booking you confirm that you have read, understood and accepted these terms on behalf of yourself and everyone in your party.
Please read them carefully. They set out our respective rights and obligations, and they form the basis of the contract between us.
2Definitions
- "You" / "the client" — the person who makes the booking and each member of the party for whom the booking is made.
- "Booking" — the travel arrangements you ask us to make and which we confirm.
- "Itinerary" / "quotation" — the written proposal describing the services, dates, hotels and price for your trip.
- "Supplier" — any independent provider of services within your trip, such as a hotel, airline, transport company, cruise or dahabiya operator, guide or restaurant.
- "Arrival" / "departure" — the start and end dates of the travel services as shown in your itinerary.
3Making a booking & the contract
You may enquire by any means we offer. We will prepare a quotation and itinerary for you. When you wish to proceed, you confirm your acceptance of the itinerary and these terms, and pay the deposit.
A binding contract comes into existence only when we issue written confirmation of your booking and your deposit has been received. Until then, prices and availability are subject to change and we hold nothing on your behalf. The person making the booking must be at least 18 years old and has authority to accept these terms for the whole party.
Please check your confirmation and all travel documents as soon as you receive them, and tell us at once of anything that appears incorrect or incomplete, as it may not be possible to make changes later.
4Prices, inclusions & exclusions
Your price is set out in your quotation. What it includes and excludes is listed there; as a general guide:
Typically included
Private guiding, private transfers and touring as described, accommodation, the meals stated, entrance fees to the sites named, any domestic flights specified, visa arrangement where stated, and airport assistance.
Typically excluded
International flights to and from Egypt, travel insurance, gratuities, personal expenses, optional excursions, and anything not expressly listed in your itinerary.
Price changes
Quoted prices may change at any time before your booking is confirmed. Once confirmed and your deposit paid, the price is guaranteed, save that we reserve the right to pass on increases directly arising from government action, taxes or fees, or significant currency fluctuation, where permitted by law. Any such surcharge will be limited and explained to you, and where it is significant you may cancel in accordance with section 8.
5Payment
Unless your quotation states otherwise:
| Stage | Amount | When due |
|---|---|---|
| Deposit (non-refundable) | 25% of the total price | On booking, to confirm the contract |
| Balance | The remaining amount | 60 days before arrival |
| Bookings made within 60 days of arrival | Full price | At the time of booking |
If the balance is not received by the due date, we may treat the booking as cancelled by you and apply the cancellation charges in section 7. Payment methods and any associated charges are set out at the time of booking.
6Changes by you
If you wish to change a confirmed booking — dates, hotels, party size or itinerary — we will do our best to accommodate it, subject to availability and to any costs imposed by our suppliers. Changes must be requested in writing by the person who made the booking. We may apply a reasonable amendment fee in addition to any supplier charges. A major change, or a reduction in party numbers, may increase the per-person price for the rest of the party.
If you wish to transfer your booking to another person, we will allow it where our suppliers permit, subject to their conditions and any costs incurred.
7Cancellation by you
You may cancel at any time, but you must tell us in writing, and the cancellation takes effect on the day we receive your notice. Because we commit to suppliers on your behalf, the following charges apply, calculated on the total price:
| Notice before arrival | Cancellation charge |
|---|---|
| 60 days or more | Loss of deposit |
| 59–30 days | 50% of the total price |
| 29–15 days | 75% of the total price |
| 14 days or fewer, or no-show | 100% of the total price |
Certain elements — such as some flights, cruises and special arrangements — may carry their own stricter, non-refundable cancellation terms, which we will tell you about before you book. Where you cancel for an insured reason, you may be able to recover charges through your travel insurance.
8Changes or cancellation by us
We plan every trip with care, but occasionally we may need to change or cancel arrangements. Most changes are minor, and we will tell you as soon as we reasonably can.
If we have to make a significant change to a confirmed booking — or cancel it — for reasons other than force majeure or your default, we will offer you, as soon as possible, the choice of: accepting the changed arrangements; taking an alternative trip of comparable standard, where available (paying or receiving any price difference); or cancelling and receiving a full refund of all monies paid to us. We are not liable for incidental costs you may incur, such as separately purchased flights, which is one reason insurance is required.
9Force majeure
We will not be liable for any failure or delay in performing our obligations, or for any change or cancellation, caused by circumstances beyond our reasonable control. These include, without limitation: war or threat of war, civil unrest, terrorism, government action or border closures, epidemics and pandemics and related restrictions, natural disasters, extreme weather, fire, flood, strikes, and the failure of transport or other infrastructure. Where a trip is affected by force majeure, our ability to offer refunds is limited to the sums we are able to recover from our suppliers.
10Travel insurance
Comprehensive travel insurance is a condition of booking. You must hold a policy that covers, as a minimum, medical expenses and repatriation, cancellation and curtailment, and your personal belongings, for the full duration and nature of your trip, including any activities you intend to undertake. You are responsible for ensuring your cover is adequate, and we may ask for your policy details. We are happy to point you to suitable providers, but the choice and adequacy of cover are yours.
11Passports, visas & health
You are responsible for holding a valid passport, the correct visas, and any required health documentation for your trip, and for meeting any entry conditions of Egypt and of any country you pass through. Passports should generally be valid for at least six months beyond your return date. We will gladly arrange Egyptian entry visas where this is stated in your itinerary, and offer general guidance, but requirements depend on your nationality and can change, so you must verify your own position with the relevant authorities. We accept no responsibility if you are refused travel or entry because your documents are not in order.
You are also responsible for taking appropriate health advice in good time and for any recommended vaccinations or precautions.
12Special requirements
Please tell us at the time of booking of any disability, medical condition, reduced mobility, dietary need or other requirement, so that we can advise on the suitability of the arrangements and do our best to accommodate you. We want every traveller to be comfortable and safe; some sites and vessels, however, have access limitations outside our control, about which we will always be honest with you. Where we cannot properly meet a need of which we were not told, we cannot accept responsibility.
13Your conduct
You are responsible for the behaviour of your party. We, our guides and our suppliers may decline to carry or accommodate anyone whose conduct is, in our reasonable opinion, dangerous, unlawful, or likely to cause distress, damage or disruption to others. Where this happens, the contract for that person ends, no refund is due, and you may be liable for any costs or damage caused. You agree to follow the reasonable instructions of guides and suppliers, and the laws and customs of Egypt and the places you visit.
14Our responsibilities & liability
We will arrange your trip with reasonable skill and care, and we accept responsibility for the services we are contractually obliged to provide, in accordance with these terms.
Many parts of your trip are delivered by independent suppliers, who provide their services subject to their own terms and conditions. We select our suppliers with care, but we are not liable for the independent acts or omissions of a supplier, or for any service not forming part of our contract with you (such as an excursion you arrange yourself). Our responsibility does not extend to anything caused by you, by an unconnected third party, or by force majeure.
Nothing in these terms limits or excludes our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud, or for anything that cannot lawfully be limited. Subject to that, our total liability to you is limited to the total price paid for the booking, and we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss. Where any element of your trip is governed by an international convention (for example the Montreal Convention for air travel), our liability is limited as provided by that convention.
This section does not affect any mandatory statutory rights you may have as a consumer under the law applicable to you.
15Complaints
If something is not right during your trip, please tell your guide or our local team at once, so we have the chance to put it right there and then. If the matter cannot be resolved while you are travelling, please write to us within 28 days of your return, quoting your booking reference, and we will respond promptly. Giving us the opportunity to help at the time is important, and a failure to do so may affect your rights.
16Financial protection
[If you operate client-money protection, a bonded client account, or any insolvency-protection scheme, describe it here. If you sell through partners in markets that require specific protection — for example the UK or EU — set out the arrangements that apply. Remove this section if none applies, and confirm the position with your adviser.]
17Data protection
We handle your personal data in accordance with our Privacy & Cookie Policy, which forms part of these terms. By booking, you accept that we will share the data necessary to deliver your trip with the relevant suppliers, in Egypt and elsewhere, as described in that policy.
18Photography & marketing
From time to time our guides or photographers may take images during a trip. We will only use images in which you are identifiable for our own marketing with your separate consent, which you may decline or withdraw at any time by contacting us. This does not affect any photographs you take yourself.
19Governing law & jurisdiction
These terms and any dispute arising from them are governed by the laws of the Arab Republic of Egypt, and the courts of [Giza / Cairo] shall have jurisdiction. If you are a consumer resident in the EEA or the UK, this does not deprive you of the protection of any mandatory consumer-law rights that apply to you, and you may also be able to bring proceedings in your own country of residence.
20General & how to reach us
If any provision of these terms is found to be invalid or unenforceable, the remaining provisions continue in force. Our failure to enforce a term is not a waiver of it. These terms, together with your itinerary and our Privacy & Cookie Policy, are the entire agreement between us regarding your booking. We may update these terms from time to time; the version in force when you book is the one that applies to your trip.
